Superstore & Mall, West Midlands

Project: Tesco, The Crown Centre, Stourbridge

System: Siphonic roof drainage system design and installation

Date: Completed June 2013

Tesco’s vision was to re- develop the existing Crown Shopping Centre into a state- of- the- art Tesco store and mall and Siphonic Solutions are proud to have help made this happen.

Tesco’s £30million conversion of the Crown Centre to a brand new store and shopping mall meant the buildings needed to fit with the town centre surroundings, next to a grade II listed building. This meant the appearance was vital and logistics of the installation had to be carefully considered.

The new- build required a flexible drainage system which could siphon rainwater efficiently from the roof, without compromising the aesthetic appeal of the building. Our design technician, draughtsman and rainwater consultant worked with our director who met with the client and surveyed the site, in order to create the best practical solution for the building’s and the client’s requirements. Health and safety was managed through Doncaster Maintenance. Construction was carried out under the requirements of Design and Management Regulations 2007.

Siphonic Solutions installed a siphonic drainage system where efficient design meant only seven downpipes were required for the whole build. With careful attention to detail, calculations and planning, Siphonic Solutions achieved the client’s vision and created a visually and technically suitable system.

Tesco needed a contractor they could trust with their new development at the Crown Centre site... another project completed on time and to costs by Siphonic Solutions.
